We love to eat and Maui has a plethora of restaurants to choose from. There are old favorites everyone likes, like Mama's Fish House & Kimos for example; as well new favorites like Mala @ the Wailea Marriott (by Chef Mark Elman) & the new Merrimans in Wailea *excuse me I should say the new Monkey Pod by Merriman which is owned by Chef Peter Merriman: Both Chefs are 2 of Hawaii's top chefs and both are 1 of the original 12 chefs that created the "Hawaii Regional Cuisine".

In fact there are so many new restaurants we all want to try, that unfortunately there is not enough customers to keep all of the restaurants open. This is the sad truth for the Waterfront Restaurant in Maalaea, which is currently closed for "renovations". We hear that unless they get a $400,000.00 investment backer that they will not be opening back up.Which is very sad as the Waterfront has been a fine dinning favorite with the freshest fish, for over 20 years.
